Risky play has many great benefits of children of all ages. These benefits include:

- Balance and coordination
- Problem solving skills
- Learning consequences – both positive and negative
- Building self confidence
- Mixing with different age groups
Research shows that risky play is an invaluable part of childhood. Not only does it increase children’s physical and motor skills but also teaches them about their own limits, and how to deal with risks in the future.
Through the children participating in risky play, it demonstrates they are meeting Learning Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing. Children take increasing responsibility for their own health and physical wellbeing.
